From the CD's liner notes:
"It has been 6 years since my last CD release. My priority for this recording was a program of original compositions, most of which had not been put on disc before. When I started to play with Kobi and Paul I began to see this trio as the ideal vehicle for putting these pieces out into the world, as I was inspired to not only treat recent tunes, but to dig through over 38 years of my compositions to unearth some I felt could have new life and context with this unit. At a certain point I decided to forego the control offered in the recording studio, for the 'high-wire act' of a live concert where there's no safety net, tunes are put through their paces on their own terms, and the audience is such an integral part of the energy in the room. I'm privileged to play with Kobi and Paul, and am both happy and grateful to be able to share this recording of what transpired 'on the day'."
